What is Tribe (TRIBE)?

Tribe is the FEI algorithmic stablecoin's governance token. Fei wants to offer the stablecoin market a brand-new decentralized alternative. Existing stablecoins are either crypto-collateralized, which makes them capital-inefficient, or they are collateralized with fiat, making them centralized.

The tribe serves only as a governing body and performs the following functions:

Make Minter and Burner contracts (including new bonding curves)
On bonding curves, modify the scale target and allocation rule
Percentage of incentive for reweighting the peg
Change the incentive time-weight growth rate
Any of the peg Uniswap pools being reweighted

When there is a surplus, the protocol uses FEI to purchase TRIBE back off the market for a percentage of the surplus.

Both TRIBE and FEI are Ethereum ERC-20 coins. The governor, minter, burner, PCV controller, and guardian are some of the positions that are included in the network's DAO governance. These are also all community governed.

Team

Tribe is operated as a DAO, which means that its community controls it completely decentralized through smart contracts. A group of Bay Area residents Joey Santoro, Brianna Montgomery, and Sebastian Delgado, founded the Fei stablecoin that is managed by the DAO and it was released in March 2021.

Several VC firms, including Andreessen Horowitz and Coinbase Ventures, support Fei Labs.
