What is Aelf (ELF)?
Similar to Ethereum (ETH), Aelf is a multi-layer, multi-chain blockchain ecosystem. Aelf OS, an open-source operating system similar to Linux, was created on aelf to support a more unified dApp environment. It creates a decentralized cloud computing network using a Delegated Proof of Stake consensus and both internal and external sidechains. ELF is the aelf platform's native ERC-20 cryptocurrency.
Only ASIC mining rigs are made expressly for blockchain technology, although the majority of blockchain platforms assume computers, servers, and other devices may function as nodes. By developing a blockchain-based operating system that fundamentally alters our gadgets at their core and unlocks more natural dApp usage, Aelf aims to change this.
There are 1,000,000,000 Aelf tokens available in total. As of now, the highest price was $2.71 on January 7, 2018.
A private ICO token sale was launched in December 2017, during which 250,000,000 ELF, or 25% of the entire quantity, were distributed. Accredited venture capital firms like Alphabit, Blockchain Ventures, ChainFunder, Draper Dragon, and FGB Capital provided the initial funding.
Of the remaining supply,
- 250,000,000 ELF vests to the Aelf Foundation after three years,
- 160,000,000 ELF vests to the aelf Team after two years,
- 100,000,000 ELF vests to advisors and partners after two years,
- 120,000,000 ELF each is set aside for mining and marketing.
From July to November 2018, a lock-mining event was held to "mine" ELF using a Proof-of-Stake method using aelf's Candy system. To boost participation on the aelf platform, a number of airdrops were staged that required a range of actions, such as sharing a selfie with your favorite toy.
Team
Aelf was founded by Ma Haobo. Previously, Haobo served as the CTO of GemPay and AllCoin, as well as the creator and CEO of Hoopox. Members of its advisory board, J. Michael Arrington, the founder and CEO of TechCrunch, and Zhou Shouji, a founding partner of FGB Capital, provide assistance to the group.
Roadmap
