Tellor is a decentralized oracle built on the Ethereum network that provides trustless access to off-chain data and enables this data to be securely placed on-chain for use in DeFi (Decentralised Finance).
Tellor provides framework for decentralized applications (dApps) to access off-chain data by using an effective incentive structure for data providers, or miners. The protocol can then induce an open, permissionless network of data reporting and data validation, further decentralisation is introduced through its data pools which are comprised of its network of reporters running Telliot its open-source reporting client, this data submitted by anyone and checked by everyone.
The data provided by the oracle are largely but not limited to its intelligent API data services. The data is submitted in bytes providing the oracle with interoperability and scalable flexibility. The robust and unique system is already compatible with Networks including Ethereum, Polygon and Algorand with the potential to join many more blockchain operations.
Brenda Loya is the current CEO of Tellor and is also the projects Co-Founder. Loya’s economic background which stems from her from Masters in field attained from JHP university, working as an Economic analyst in both the private and public sector. She was also Vice President and Lead Developer at Daxia a Washington based Blockchain and data science project.
Nick Fett is the CTO of Tellor, similarly to his counterpart he also is a formerly of Daxia during his with the firm worked on Ethereum derivatives contracts. He is also a graduate of JHP university, has an economic background working for the Bureau of Labor Statistics and U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
Michael Zemrose is co-founder and CSO of Tellor and was also a part of the exodus at Daxia leaving his position in business development. Before Daxia, Zemrose exhibited entrepreneurial flair in the media and consulting fields before applying his skills at Tellor.
June 2019 - The project received investment during its incubation period from crypto giants Binance through their dedicated investment branch Binance Labs and graduated from the programme at the end of June.
August 2019 - Launch of Tellor decentralised oracle using the Ethereum Mainnet and just a month later the implementation of Tellor v2 which increased the throughput and overall speed two-fold amongst other token economic improvements.
December 2021 - The end of 2021 was concluded with Tellors highly anticipated launch TellorX. The update represents improving the data feeds in the form of introducing its bytes data for the oracle. This with other code changes include increased efficiency and code robustness that paved the way for multi-chain operability.
Janurary 2022 - A new contract was employed to deliver oracle data to users on Polygon. This included a streamlined and flexible version of Tellor called TellorFlex, marking its first cross-chain endeavour. The next blockchain collaboration was finalised in May 2022 with Algorand.
Trust Wallet - a multi-currency mobile wallet that enables users to simultaneously store a variety of digital assets in one place. Beginner friendly mobile wallet may be appropriate for users looking for a convenience and accessible app, with trusted security and backup options.
