What is My DeFi Pet (DPET)?

The creators of the blockchain game believe that the name of the project embodies the three key elements of their mission; ‘My’ the personalisation aspect of the game, ‘DeFi’ reflecting the decentrlaised infrastructure of the protocol, and ‘Pet’ addressing the nature and premise of the game. My DeFi Pet has explored the combination of Decentralised Finance with NFT collectibles to create a game that has been compared to elements of Pokémon and NFT’s.

DPET Tokens are the economic incentive provided to warrant players using the ecosystem. Players are rewarded with DPET Tokens for their participation in, and contributions toward the maintenance of the ecosystem. This means users or holders not willing to actively participate receive no token incentives. The Token's Economics offer multiple options for how users can use their coins, some of which include: Governance – Locking in DPET Tokens for a specific duration of time will enable users to vote for new features they wish to see, Staking – Staking DPET into pools will offer a variety of rewards such as new items or eggs and Play 2 Earn – A key feature of the game which sees users enjoy the game's features that reward them with DPET Tokens.

The launch of My DeFi Pet was introduced on May 14th, 2021, and by September 2021, had seen the growth to 166,000 token holders. This mass adoption could potentially be attributed to the team's decision to produce a season system instead of the more generic, long-winded rhythm of collectible games. Within this system, Season 1 includes a Grand Prize of 100,000 USDT, whereby a specific contract requiring 10 legendary pets with maxed levels needs to be submitted to.

A Blockchain Game

My DeFi Pet hosts a combination of different engaging activities for gamers which include: Collecting, Breeding, Evolving, Trading, and Battling. With a season system in place, players achieve a short-term sense of reward which keeps their progress consistent and always wanting more.

Collecting – Two processes can be embarked upon in order to collect new pets. The first of these two is the action of ‘summoning’, where after you consume a certain volume of DPET Tokens you will be rewarded with a random egg. The second of the two will be through ‘Auction’. A new pet is born every hour, coinciding with this, a bid for it is initialised which will last for the next 24 hours. Any unclaimed pets will be used at a later date for different use purposes.
Breeding – With this function, a new pet can be created that will inherit its parent genes. Anyone within the ecosystem has the ability to call upon this function, providing they are willing to pay the gas fee. However, the new pet will always go to the mother’s owner.
Evolving – The capabilities of this action are always dependent on the rarity of the card, but players are able to feed their pets DPET tokens in order to level them up, whilst also gaining experience points for themselves.
Trading – A marketplace has been created with its purpose being to support any trades of pets players intend on completing. This completion is achieved through a bidding process that involves the transferring of an NFT providing enough KAI/BNB/USDT is supplied.
Battling – Currently, this operation is being tested, therefore information on this will be included once the activity has been finalised.

Team

The My DeFi Pet (DPET) project is backed by multiple investors and partners such as: Animoca Brands, DFG, Kardiachain and Mantra Dao. The task of developing the game has been undertaken by leading Vietnamese game studio Topebox, who's CEO Liem Thai, is currently titled Game Creator of this project.

Tri Pham - CEO– Pham is the CEO of both MY DeFi Pet as well as partner company Kardiachain, the first interoperable blockchain in Vietnam and South East Asia. Pham’s extensive experience in the blockchain industry will enable him to bring My DeFi Pet to the next level of blockchain games.

Liem Thai – Game Creator – Thai is the creator of My DeFi Pet, with his prior history in the video gaming industry including winning the Best Game of the Year 2016 Award. Thai is also the CEO at Game Studio Topebox, where his team has placed My DeFi Pet as the first-ever blockchain-based gameto be built on top of Kardiachain technology.

Tommy Le – Game Marketer – Le is a co-founder of Topebox, the game team of My DeFi Pet. Le believes that My DeFi Pet offers something unique, with the ability for over 2 million creatures, all with differing variables. He also believes this function will enable the creation of a huge exchange between users.

John Huy Nguyen – Chief Business Officer – Nguyen first became involved in blockchain technology in 2017 and later co-founded My DeFi Pet in 2021 alongside current CEO, Tri Pham. My DeFi Pet’s Play2Earn features are what he believes separates this game from other blockchain-based projects.

Anh Tran – Game Developer – Tran is the Chief Gaming Officer at Topebox and is currently helping to constantly update My DeFi Pet. Prior to Topebox, Tran has worked at VNG Corporation (a Vietnamese Technology Company) as a Project Manager, enabling him to gain valuable experience in the technological industry.
